What to Expect
On your first visit Dr. Kandis Lock, ND, will perform a careful and detailed assessment of your health status taking into consideration your current health, your medical history and your lifestyle and stress management strategies. Dr. Lock works in a virtual capacity and looks forward to visiting with you online.
A follow up visit is anywhere from 2-4 weeks to allow you to implement our health strategy and notice any changes.

Is this covered by OHIP?
Naturopathic medicine is not covered by OHIP, however most extended health care plans do cover the cost of seeing an ND. Call your insurance provider and ask if you have naturopathic and/or acupuncture coverage.
What’s the cancellation policy?
We respect your time and we hope you respect ours. We require 2 business days to cancel your appointment, otherwise full visit fees will apply.
What training do NDs have?
NDs obtain comprehensive and rigorous training in an educational structure similar to that of medical doctors. NDs require four years of post-secondary education including pre-med courses, plus four years of full-time graduate level study at an approved accredited college of Naturopathic Medicine. In Canada, there are only two schools that are accredited- The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, and Boucher Institute.
Upon graduating from either of these colleges, they must complete North American licensing board examinations in order to apply for a license to practice. In Ontario, we fall under the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
How is a naturopathic doctor different from other “holistic” practitioners?
Unfortunately, the complementary and alternative medicine field is not as closely monitored as it could be. There are many practitioners without adequate education and training, claiming to be natural health care providers. Not all provinces are regulated; fortunately Ontario is. The College of Naturopaths is dedicated to regulations and public safety. So you know you are in good hands.
